Dearest Reader…

“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

The Pilgrim’s Update

A Pilgrim’s Update

“But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.”

Hebrews 11:16

Diving Back In

Well. As you can see, it has been some time since I have written on this blog site. It has been a busy start to the year and it has kept me away from getting back on here to write. That has changed of late though. As the year progressed, I found a good job with good pay. All went for a while and well, things were not as they appeared. I shall keep the specific’s out, but I resigned from being a manager at a gun shooting club due to shall we see a toxic environment with empty seated leadership. So, after much contemplation, I departed from there. I will miss the customers that I was able to help and become friends with. The door opened at the right time and I had to leave, so I shall I leave at that. I am no fan of drama and why ruin a good blog post with drama?

A Year Later

It is hard to believe that it has been a year and some months since the deaths of my father and brother. It feels like yesterday it happened. It feels surreal to this day. The emptiness of their absence is felt everyday in my heart. I now carry their images and memories in my mind and heart. I am thankful to the Lord for the time that He allowed me to have with them in this life. As James, the brother Christ states in James 4, our lives are like that of a vapor, a mist above an ocean wave. We are here like seasons that come and go. I say make it good practice to love, cling, and hold onto the ones you love while you have them in your lives; because you do not know what will happen the next day.

podcast

I am still in the progress of creating a Podcast called, Anxious for Nothing Radio. The podcast will highlight the Christian and the life of anxiety that comes around and afflicts us from time to time. It is a subject that I feel most Christians and churches do not talk about a lot to be honest. While many will give advice, what does the Lord say concerning this subject. We will not only talk of Anxiety and depression, but I hope this podcast can be a light to those that feel trapped in the darkness of their minds and souls; remaining them there is a Savior who loves you and can help you break free of the bonds that you feel shackled too. Stay tuned for more updates on when the Podcast will be coming out and I will do my best to keep you all updated.

LigCon 2022 National Conference

Ligonier National Conference

I am pleased to say that the Lord has allowed me and my wife to attend this year’s Ligonier National Conference. This year, the theme will focus on Christian Ethics. I look forward to seeing my professors, friends, but most of all having some great fellowship with some great brothers and sisters there. It is my goal to blog daily from the conference and provide a post conference update on the day and the messages that were preached. I’ll also have some photos that you can see on my twitter space. I look forward to sharing those days with you and as a reminder, it will be live streamed, so you can watch from home. I would greatly encourage you too!

a better country

Lastly, I wanted to leave you with some encouragement. After all, there is not much on the news that will give you that these days. The world may seem like it is headed in a downward, uncontrollable spiral, but allow me to say, it may seem so, but it is not. God in His Majestic Sovereignty has all things under His control. We may not see what God is doing in these days, moments and perhaps years, but I assure you He is in control. If you are a Christian, then like the writer of Hebrews states above, we are just pilgrims here, waiting for that far better country, a heavenly one where sin will be no more, tears will be wiped away as the Lord our God will make things new. Take heart my dear friends and readers, look up, always up to our Blessed Hope, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is coming back. We may not know when or the season, but He is. Cling to His promise and as He, the Lord states in Revelation, His “Words are Faithful and True.”

With that said, I look forward to being back on here and writing to encourage you, the weary pilgrim. We are all weary and ready for the Lord’s imminent return, but for right now, we must encourage one another. As the writer of Proverbs says, “Iron sharpens Iron.”

Let us also keep the many Christians in Ukraine in our prayers as we press into the night and fall into our sleep as they will not.

God Speed Friends.
