Dispatches of a Wayfaring Pilgrim

Dispatches from the Front

It has been sometime. It really has. The past two months have been busy as we have moved from Florida to Springfield, Missouri. Quite a change, I know, but one that was needed. We have been here for about a month and some weeks now and we are settling in very well. Over the course of 4 weeks, the Lord in His kindness and grace provided a job, a home and a home church. Looking back now, I am amazed by His goodness. The stress of moving was great. The anxiety so heavy, but looking back now, the Lord was in control and I am thankful.

As we are settling and catching up on the rest from moving, my gaze, my focus has shifted to this small blog. I have this for many years and have let it sit for sometime. I have been meaning to get to back to writing for sometime. I have the urge to write and willingness. So, I have been praying and thinking of what to do with this little blog. The thought of a journal comes to mind. Life. I am 49 years old now. The idea of sharing life from a theological point view has been on my mind for sometime now and the last 5 years have been like a roller coaster for the most part. I have been keeping a lot in over the last five years and I think that it is time to unpack it all.

I am nothing more than a wayfaring pilgrim making my way through this world. I am no one special and have no desire to be. The desire I do have is to encourage and help. There is little encouragement on the hellish landscape we call social media these days. Why today even, I have deactivated my X account as I have gown sick of the toxicity that exists on there. It has also distracted me and consumed much of my time that I have wasted many a hours. I am thankful for friends that I have made on there, but I have their phone number. I want to make use of that time that I have wasted and to use the gifts that God has given me to help others.

It is my prayer and goal to use this blog to share my thoughts, musings and life with you the reader. Encouragement. We can surely use it these dark days, cant we? Indeed.

I am not sure what lies ahead but I can say that no matter how dark the days get, we are not alone in this world and that the Lord knows all of our anxieties depression, sorrows, griefs and so forth. He uses us to help one another during these trying times. I am simply a pilgrim pointing other pilgrims to the great Celestial City that is a head of us.

So, I look forward to this journey and I pray that I can be an encouragement to you!
